Now I'm "Krissie"

July 12, 1965
Hi Krissie:-
Your letter and lobster card arrived Saturday but as I had gone North Friday night it was Sunday before I read it. We are very proud of you and Joanne for handling the fire Jamie started so well. It certainly made interetaing eeading but you did not mention if the parents were very mad at poor little Jamie. Suppose he was in the "dog house" for awhile. Your letter was very newsy especially about the 60th celebration. Glad to hear you are not working too hard and that you are having some fun besides. Bet you have a beautiful tan. I let Joan and Mrs. Parkin read your letter as I brought it to work with me this A.M. Will show it to the gang when I get home tonight. By now you probably know that Sue received your 15 pager. She was in the process of answering you when I last saw her last week. It sure takes awful long for letters back and forth and I'd almost given up hope of hearing from you so you may be sure I was glad to find your letter waiting for me when I got home from ip North. I kept thinking about it all weekend.
When Dad and I were leaving Friday night about 7 for up North Pat and Tony were sitting outside looking quite bored so Dad and I asked them if they'd like to come alolng with us. You should have been Pat's fce light up and he said "just give me 5 mins. Mr. Lacombe to throw a few things in a suit case." He just tore up his stairs like a "bat out of hell" he was so happy to go. Had to include Tony because he was sitting with him on the steps... Pat said he has not had a letter from you yet, just 2 cards but has written to you and says he sure would love to have a letter and said when he gets one he'll write and tell you all about this past weekend up North, so I won't go into details....
We left the ranch at 7.30 but the traffic was terrific and was near 10 when we got home. When we went in the house Janice and Bill were in kitchen sewing the sails with my little machine. Poor Janice she worked at it all weekend (she's a good kid and must like Bill a lot to do that for him because it's no easy job). She was enveloped in sails, yards and yards. There is just the finishng touches left, about one more evening's sewing.
This Friday I'll be starting my holidays. Will spend the first week at home but the 2nd week will stay up North with Dad and Grannie, as Dad has that eek off. As soon as you find out what day you'll be leaving for home please let me know. Maybe it will be in the middle of the 2nd week of my holidays, in which case we would come down from up North and get you and you can bring anyone you want up with you. Will be so glad to see you again as we all miss you very much, but are glad that you are with such nice people and away from the city in the Sumer. Everybody envies you.
I know how good N.B. salmon tastes because Popsie always bought a salmon when we went down to the camp in N.B.
My sty is all better - it only lasted a couple of days.
...
Your letters are very interesting even though they seem to take ages coming. I will see if I can get someone to send you C.F.C.F. Hit chart, probably Sue if I see her tonight will show her your letter also.
Bill says to tell you to behave yourself but have fun. He enjoys reading your letters.
Can't think of anymore news but will write again this week when I get the pictures Pat took up North this weekend.
Love from us all
Mum
Dad

Sat. night I went fishing across the lake with Tony and Pat. We caught lots of small perch - it's fun. Pat put the worms on the hook for me. We feed our catch to the hatchery trout and also to Prince; we bring them back alive in a pail of water, and you'd die if you saw Prince gobbling up a fish that is still wiggling. The first time Tony everf fished was at our place. Pat wanted to teach him how to swsim Sat. afternoon but Tony is too chicken. Guess when you get that old you're scared but I think everyone should know how to swim and he should grab at the opportunity. There are still some black flies as we haven't had a long stretch of hot weather to kill them.
Have received no mail from Marymount yet re your Year Book or marks.
