Sue and I have been best friends for forty years

July 6, 1965
Am sending along the pictures I mentioned in the letter I wrote to you yesterday. Patrick took these so you can see he has a very good camera. The one of the three of them at the kitchen table Pat took himself by setting a timer on the camera and then jumping in the picture. That's me at the barbecue (doesn't look like me, does it?) that's Wayne in the Pedalo and Tony & Wayne at the row boats. Be sure and bring these pictures back home with you as I want to keep them, especially the one of the house which I think is pretty good. We tore the patio roof down as it didn't look good. From the picure you can see that the wind had already got ahead of us.
Yesterday at the office at 4.30 I had a telephone call from Marg from Toronto. She had arrived at Shirley's with Marilyn. She is taking her on to Quebec today by train to spend 2 weeks with a French family as they want her to learn French. Don't think she was too excited about going. I went over to Walt's last night to see them. Ray and Betty and their little baby were there. The baby is 2 mos. old, awfully cute. Marilyn and Richard and Bill went to the pool in Cote St. Luc for swim. Said they had the whole pool to themselves. They got back about 8.30. I let Marilyn read your letter (your one and only letter). You'd better hurry up
and write again if you want to use up those envelopes I gave you. You will be gone 2 weeks tomorrow and so far only 1 letter. Did not see Sue last nite since I went to Shirley's but did see Pat and he said Sue had a long (underlined in red) letter from you.
I asked Marilyn if she would like to spend a week in Mont'l with you when she got back and she said she'd love to. Marg said if we had room for her she would like it very much if Marilyn could spend a week in Mont'l. I would think the first week in August would be best if your Gordie guy will be in Mont'l on the 10th or thereabouts...
I told you all the news in my letter of yesterday. Hope you're being a good girl and your arm is O.K. My sty seems better today - not so sore.
Marg gets back from Quebec at 8.30 tonight after delivering Marilyn in Quebec so guess I'll invite her and Shirley over to the house for tea.
I got Bill's sail cloth today - just in time as he said they finished the boat yesterday. Now it's my job to sew the sails.
Write soon - love from
Mummy, Daddy, Bill
Write soon!!!
P.S. Your marks or year book have not arrived yet. As soon as they do will mail them to you.
