Hi Kris -

Well I'm now on the 3rd day of my holidays -- & am spending this week at home on Montclair. Janice could not leave work to go up North with Bill and I. Really I don't mind, because the weather is very cool (40 degrees at night) & I'm getting some jobs done at home which I never had time for before. For instance that big basket of ironing that's been waiting for a month. I did it all yesterday, & lo & behold when I get to the very bottom of the basket, there is your red blouse washed & waiting to be ironed. There is no use mailing it to you now, besides it's wearing out at the elbow & if the mail men go on strike tomorrow, as it seems they will, goodness knows when you'll get it.
Dad came home at noon today to take me out to lunch. We went to the Chicken Chalet on Decarie & I just got back. It is one o'clock, Bill has today off & has gone with Carl to sail their boat. Bill leaves next Thursday for Mexico. Will be away about four days.
We had a nice weekend up North that is Sue, Joan & John. Sue dropped in yesterday & told me she wrote to you & gave you all the details of the weekend, so I won't repeat. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a letter waiting from you when we got home Sunday night at midnight. Got quite a kick out of you setting the table with all the various cutlery & glasses.
...
If you arrive home before the weekend will come down & get you & Sue if you want to bring her. She said she loves it up there. So you can phone H. Gauthier & he will give us the message. Bill will be in Mexico over that weekend so there may not be anyone home to greet you. Hope there is no strike with the letter carriers otherwise that will be tough on our letters. Be sure to take a gravol pill before you leave for home. Be good! Sure miss the typewriter for writing letters.
All our love,
Mum, Dad & Bill
