Happy Vernal Equinox

Spring arrived at 13:49 EST, the moment the Sun was directly above the Equator. This is the earliest date for the start of spring since 1896!

On this day, just a few moments before or after the exact moment of the equinox, you could have gone outside with a raw egg, found a reasonably level place on the sidewalk or driveway and balanced the egg upright (wider end down) by simply setting it down on the ground. No kidding! It would have stood up all by itself. I didn't do it, but we'll all get another chance at the autumnal equinox, so I'll be sure to pre-alert you.
