The New Moon
The New Moon falls today, Monday, February 27th at 7:32 p.m. A New Moon occurs about every 29 and ½ days when the Moon aligns with the Sun from the Earth’s perspective, thus the Moon at a New Moon is invisible due to its proximity to the Sun. The New Moon is a conception point, a time when farmers plant their seeds, or a new adventure (or initiation) begins. Working with a clear intent during the New Moon window (the day before, day of and day after the exact New Moon) is a wonderful timing for collectively planting seeds, or prayers, for wholeness, healing, harmony, balance, peace, and so on. As the crescent Moon increases in light, growing bigger each night, it symbolizes the growth of the seeds planted at the New Moon.
