Move over Jane

A researcher at McGill University (let's here it for Montreal!) has discovered that newborns until the age of three months respond as well to the noise chimps make as they do to their own mother's voice! This was scientifically measured by how the infants suck on their pacifiers when stimulated by the voice. So, a chimp mom could adopt a baby and the baby would thrive as well as it would with his own mother. That's just my conclusion and I wish I could find the link to the reliable news article I read on-line this morning, but I find that one of the perils of "hanging out" on the internet is that you lose things, which I've been doing a lot lately since I am trying out Firefox as my new web browser but haven't dumped Internet Explorer. Oh for the simpler life! Not!!
P.S. I'm only joking about Jane; actually I have always had the deepest respect for her and her lifetime work and as a matter of fact I was thinking about volunteering at her research facility here in town, but I lost that link too (drats).
