Life is so unfair

Like, for instance, how come there are 210 calories in 3/4 cup of Cracker Jacks? I mean, first of all, who can measure out and eat only 3/4 C of CJ's in the 1st place, and 2nd, regular popcorn does not have nearly as many calories. Don't get me wrong, I would buy regular popcorn but most of the pc I see in the supermarket is for microwaves and I do not own a microwave. Goddess forbid I would do anything so deleterious to my health as to use a microwave. Anways, back to the Cracker Jacks: they were way better-tasting when I was a little girl, but so were Laura Secord Easter eggs. What can we do? Progress. All that being said, I shall curl up tonight to watch "The Good Shepherd" DVD and enjoy all -- not only 3/4 cup -- of my Cracker Jacks. And, of course, save the prize until the end.
The End.

Matt has a new girlfriend

He says Marie-Chantale is the love of his life. And a beautiful, intelligent young lady she is. A PhD in Aids research who works for Abbot at this time. We like Marie very much.

Some things never change

Good morning,
This is the view from our mistress bedroom window taken on January 27th; however, tomorrow, on April 13th the view will remain the same since we are expecting 10 cms. of snow. What me worry as "Mad Magazine" used to say. It's all up to Mother Nature anyway.

I have monomania

My new word of the day describes obsessing on one thing. Yup, that's me and my tabby-to-be. I've even added You Tube to my blog with a video of the cutest best friends Max and the tabby -- next to Sue and I that is. Speaking of Sue, she thinks I should get a dog instead, so does Marilyn who said get a hypoallergenic dog like Buddy, her Maltese. Max is a terrier of some sort. Actually I am growing fonder of the thought of carrying around a little dog in one of those fancy pooch bags, but I've got to grow a whole lot more enamored of walking the dog morning and night. We'll see.

VINEXPO

This shot was taken in Bordeaux, June 2005 and I like my attitude in this picture. Happy to report I will be going back this year and am rather looking forward to the trip. My boss, Mrs. Blank is the lady in blue and the other people are a husband and wife pair of our suppliers from Israel.

My MIT for the day

ZenChill.com Power Tools Blog: How to Attract Money Into Your Life: "In Ask and It Is Given, Abraham-Hicks teach a process for becoming free of debt using the Law of Attraction.

Here are their recommendations:

1. Use a columnar writing pad with as many columns as you have debts.
2. Starting with the far left column, write a heading for your largest monthly debt expense (e.g., “house payment”).
3. Directly under that header write the dollar amount of this monthly expense. Highlight or circle this amount.
4. Directly under this monthly amount write the outstanding balance of this debt.
5. Repeat this process for all of your debts. Be sure to list them all, from left to right, from your largest monthly obligation to your smallest.
6. At the very top of the writing pad write this affirmation: “It is my desire to keep my promise regarding all of these financial obligations, and in some cases I will even do twice as much as is required.”
7. As you receive your monthly bills, take out this columnar pad and adjust the required minimum monthly amount, as it changes.
8. As you receive your monthly bills, pay exactly twice the amount starting with the column on the farthest right (i.e., the smallest amount). Pay twice the amount for all of the columns that you are"

My blogging sister is right

I have been away too long. So from now on, upon early rising, I shall not go directly to my e-mail inbox, I shall get my creativity into gear and post. Here's a picture of me from the end of last September on a ferry crossing from Delaware to Cape May New Jersey. Hopefully the wind blowing in my hair will give me the impetus to carry out my intention, go with the flow so to speak.
Create a great day.

Polly wants a cracker

I reached into the cupboard today in search of a dry soda cracker. Then I remembered how growing up -- whenever that was, 'cause I'm not even there yet -- I, actually my mom and I -- used to love crackers with hard butter and sugar on top. Just the thought of it now makes me cringe. The things we re-member...
