Sunrise, 5:50 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2005. I specifically set my internal alarm clock to go out on deck to view this sunrise and I was not disappointed. In the early morning hours Volendam turned from Chatham Strait into Summer Strait at Cape Decision. This led us to Snow Pass, a very narrow and hazardous passage. Where have I heard that word "hazardous" before from Captain Visser on this voyage ?
